A modern development of terrace houses. We stayed in a Bed and Breakfast in one, a short stroll along The Avenue from the centre of town. Rather confusingly the modern estate is in "Newtown", the centre of Inveraray is the New Town laid out in 1770, having been moved across the bay to make way for the castle grounds. The Newtown area had a commando training camp in the 2nd World War, see Scotland's Places http://www.scotlandsplaces.gov.uk/search_item/index.php?service=RCAHMS&id=151681 .
