The village of St. Mary's Bay, initially called Jesson, developed in the 20th century, and the early decades after the Second World War saw its heyday as a popular holiday resort. The changing fashion for holidays abroad contributed to the village's decline as a resort. Consequently it has lost most of the facilities one would expect in a resort. However the pub has survived. It used to be a farmhouse. Image Image
