St Edmund's church > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1876533 was built from local carstone and dates mainly from the 13th century. A cruciform church stood on this site in Norman times and some Norman features were discovered during a later restoration. Aisles were added during the 15th century and the west gallery dates from Victorian times when a major rebuilding took place. The C15 font bowl was reset on a new stem and base in 1855. The other windows > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1876559 are by Mayer & Co of Munich, a Bavarian stained glass design and manufacturing company that has been active throughout most of the world for over 150 years.
