The mansion of the Leslies of Balquhain has become a total ruin since the disastrous fire of 1919, and little remains of the former medieval Bishop's Palace that once stood on the site. However, ongoing archaeological excavations have since uncovered remains of the front wings of the former Palace, and parts of the later mansion that had previously been demolished.
