Inset into the wall above the entrance door of Muckrach Castle is a carved stone plaque dated 1598. It commemorates the marriage of Patrick Grant and his wife, the second son of John Grant of Freuchie (4th Laird of Grant). The stone bears the arms and initials of Patrick and his wife, plus the motto "In God Is Al My Trest".
