The tram is approaching Broadway tram stop on its journey to Eccles. It is one of a batch of six, type T68a, supplied in 1999 by Firema of Italy (now part of the Ansaldo group) for use on the Eccles branch, which opened in 2000. With a huge batch of new trams currently being delivered by Bombardier, all the Firema trams will eventually have a major overhaul and internal refit. Update April 2017:- Subsequently the order for new trams was increased and all the Firema trams were withdrawn. Most, including 2003, were scrapped but a few still exist.
