Just where this old tram line in Hessel Street ends, it can be seen that there was originally a set of points, presumably so trams to and from the depot here could turn into and out of Eccles New Road in either direction. Today the Manchester Metrolink tramway runs along Eccles New Road. This photograph is one of several taken around Hessel Street on a visit in May 2010.
