Seen from the minor road, the mill is now a grade II listed building. The history of the mill is interesting because it was purchased by Kingham Hill Homes (now Kingham Hill School) when it was being built to prevent delays to the horse-drawn vehicles from the school which accessed the siding via the mill yard. Access was liable to be prevented, for example when the miller was operating a threshing machine in the yard.
