Thomas Hog was a minister during the times of the Covenanters. He was imprisoned on the Bass Rock and in Blackness Castle for his refusal to accept episcopacy. His name is spelt 'Hog' on his grave, but 'Hogg' on this plaque. For photo of his grave, see Image]
