An imposing building, on the corner of Edge Lane and Manchester Road, which would look even better if the stonework's black grime of many decades was removed. The pub is owned by the Joseph Holt brewery in Manchester, which was established in 1849, and is still family run. It is well-known for its "Manchester Ales". The back and white white banners seen on the corner, were encouraging people to vote in the General and local elections being held on 6th May 2010. Image Image
