Sheffield: winged lion on Castle Square

One of four of these creatures – another is partially in shot at the extreme left while the others others are behind and out of shot to the right. Originally these derive from a stone monument at Moorhead, which was moved about 40 years ago. Part of the original piece was re-erected at the Botanical Gardens but the lions were too badly weathered. However, two moulds were made from them by Chris Boulton, and these are the bronzes cast from that mould.
