Edmund Waller (1606-1687) was a poet and politician who lived at nearby Hall Barn. His tomb, here in the grounds of Image, is a Grade II Listed Monument described thus, with the seemingly sadly inevitable spelling mistake corrected, on the English Heritage website: "A marble obelisk is set on 4 winged skulls, the whole on a chest tomb type base in grey stone with relief carved drapery and flaming urns. Iron spearhead railings around."
