This station opened in 1928, replacing another that had been sited further towards London Bridge since 1869. Like several other stations on this elevated line it consists of a single island platform. The side shown here is the "up" side and the approaching train is the 08.48 on a service from West Croydon to London Bridge. The trains stood in platform 2 is heading for Victoria.
