The building in the photograph is the 1930 built Vicarage for the adjacent St Peter's church. It replaced an older building on the site, bought in 1829 for housing the incumbent after the opening of the church in 1825/26. The old building may have been one of the many coaching inns that existed in London Colney at the time, but there is no positive evidence available. London Colney only became a parish with a Vicar in 1909 so it was only called a Vicarage from that date onwards.
