These ponies are grazing the heath to the east of Black Barrow. The foal is busy eating but its mother is "standing" out the heat of the day. It always looks a bit uncomfortable, but they prefer to stand out in the open rather than head for shade - the reason is something to do with there being less flies out in the open.
