Osbaldwick Beck flows through St. Nicholas Fields nature reserve. This land was formerly a brickworks (until the 1950s) and later a landfill site (closed in 1974). In the early 1990s work began on forming the nature reserve here now. For more information see http://www.stnicksfields.org.uk/
