The old vernacular Aberdeen granite house is dwarfed by the new construction which could be in any city in the modern world. Looking down Summer Street from its junction with Huntly Street. According to the Civic Society's annual Awards Ceremony: "Union Plaza" is a very large block occupying a site vacant for many years. The building is distinguished by its clean lines, use of colour and its imposing entrance feature.
