Built probably in the late 19C, with shops on the ground floor and offices above. The corner turret was a favourite feature at that time; this one does not rise above the rest of the building, so its conical roof has a rather awkward join the main roof. The gate at the rear has a prominent letter 'A'. Briggate is to the left; from its name it was at one time an important route into the town. It becomes Bradley Road and would have been the main road to Skipton before the turnpike roads were built. Its name plate is at ground level, having presumably been knocked off its post by an errant motor vehicle.
