In the churchyard is a sandstone sundial which is probably 18th century. Its height is explained by the fact it was designed to be read by someone on horseback. Behind the sundial is the shaft of an ancient preaching cross. It is very worn, but the carving includes interlaced foliage and, on the east face, pictures of a horse with two figures. Laying at the base of the sundial is another broken cross shaft. The larger of the two cross pieces dates from the 8th century.
