Sitting proudly on a covered reservoir at 515 ft above sea level, this trig point marks the highest point of the most northerly - and marginally lowest - of the three 500 ft gritstone ridges that rise to the east of the south Lancashire plain, the other two being Ashurst Beacon and Billinge Hill.
