Hope Drive, with its grand Victorian houses, runs diagonally across the picture towards Castle Boulevard. The slate-roofed terrace with three ground-floor bays, Nos 2-8 http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1831733 , just to the right of centre, is said to be by Watson Fothergill - a restrained but characteristically asymmetrical example of his work.
