A Grade II listed building dating from the late 17C/early 18C with a 19C extension is on the corner of Castle Foregate and New Park Road. It shares a frontage with the Morris Lubricants' factory in the former Perseverance Iron Works. This was an industrial area of the city with the former terminal basin of the Shrewsbury and Newport Canal nearby. The pub may re-open as a shop.
