To the left is the improved A1 Belfast-Dublin dual carriageway as it passes through the townland of Buskhill. This section was completed on 21 November 2006. To the right was the southbound carriageway of the old A1 - first dualled in 1972 in quite a cheap fashion. The southbound carriageway was effectively an improvement of the old pre-1972 single carriageway road (i.e. with a number of curves and dips) - the northbound carriageway was built a field's with to the west and ran a much smoother course.
