The Knights Templar came to Scotland in 1128 and have a long association with the Aberdeen area, being granted land at Maryculter in 1225. http://www.historicist.com/articles3/knights.htm The Park now belongs and is operated by Aberdeen Area Scout Council as a campground and training centre.
