Here we are looking east, with the main river on the right and the mill stream coming in from the left. Interesting is the small weir that has been inserted here on the main river. The purpose of this would have been to prevent excess water from the main river backing up into the mill stream, which would have prevented the efficient operation of the waterwheel.
