Derringstone Street heads towards Derringstone Hill via a ford through the River Nailbourne. Pedestrians have a footbridge. The River is at full spate, due to the recent snow-melt going through the chalk downs and feeding the streams of the river. The ford is just passable by cars, if going slowly.
