A Southampton City Transport bus makes its way along the Terrace past the park beside the station. The clock tower in the distance is on Southampton Civic Centre. The exhaust centre on the left was still standing as recently as 2005 - see Image by Jim Champion - but has subsequently been demolished. (the photo includes the small park from which this photo was taken). The houses behind the bus, on West Park Road, have also been demolished and replaced by a multi-storey car park. The bus is an AEC Regent V with Neepsend bodywork. It entered service in 1968 and was withdrawn in 1981, a year after this photo was taken.
