Opened in February 1858, the church was designed by Robert Young (of Young and Mackenzie); the local builder was Samuel Moore of Morrow's Lane with plasterwork by William Hayes of Marino. The church has just emerged from an extensive restoration to the external stonework which, thankfully, left a flush bracket on the wall undamaged - see Image
