The outbuildings have an exhibition on King Charles II and his escape following the Battle of Worcester in 1651. The king famously hid in a priest hole in the house to avoid the attention of Roundhead soldiers. The Monarch's Way Long Distance Footpath follows the route of his escape into exile.
