Due to heavy rainfalls a few weeks earlier the nearby River Thet had flooded adjoining pastures and the water has still not fully receded. A sign announces the permanent ford situated here in a dip in Bradcar Road. The water level appears to be considerably higher than shown in this picture > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/382582 taken in March 2007. Not knowing how deep the water would be I did not attempt to drive through it - getting one's car stuck in the middle of a ford is a very unpleasant experience.
