The image is taken from the car park on the Chester Road in the middle of the village (SJ 4884 7559) although the woods and crags behind the houses are in the next square Image It is hard to be anywhere in Helsby without seeing the crags - the northern end of the Cheshire Sandstone Ridge marking the former coastline when the Mersey (behind the photographer) was much wider than it is today.
