The pub closed around Christmas of 2009, and has since suffered a nasty incident with a burst pipe in the cold weather of January or February, hence the vandal-proof shuttering that has been put up whilst someone is found who's willing to offer this fine country pub a new lease of life. Update - Dec 2013. My hopeful prediction above has come true; the pub re-opened earlier this year, and is gaining a reputation for good pub grub.
