Another picture of this incredible survivor from the past, standing among today's High Street chainstores and coffeeshops in the centre of Hereford. Built in 1621 for a wealthy butcher (and were there ever any poor butchers in Hereford?), it passed through a succession of hands until it became a museum in 1929. The interior is furnished as a Jacobean home with all manner of domestic goods including four-poster beds, kitchen utensils, baby's walkers and a hole for the cat in the bedroom door.
