Erected by the Urban District Council of Yiewsley & West Drayton, the local authority prior to the creation of Hillingdon Borough Council in the 1970s. This simple memorial bears the words 'To the fallen 1914 - 1918 1939 - 1945 Lest we forget' and Laurence Binyon's famous poem. It also bears the crest of the Royal British Legion and of the old council, which includes on its crest the Old Gatehouse Image
