A close-up of the finial of the finger-post (see Image), giving location and grid reference details. It seems that the letter I was neglected! Nothing is written on this side of the left-hand finger because of the triangular layout of the junction – traffic coming from behind us wishing to turn left would already have swung to the left, cutting off the sharp corner.
