Savile Bowling Club

Viewed from Horsehold Scout. The bowling club, accessed along a private road / public footpath from Savile Road was established in 1910 in a clearing in Rawtonstall Wood. The land was originally owned by Lord Savile but was bought by the club in 1924. The pavilion also dates from that time, having replaced a wooden pavilion which burnt down in the early 1920s. http://www.charlestownhistory.org.uk/mytholm.html#savile
