The old school building on East Road. Moorgate runs downhill on the right. Building on this site started in 1851. The school has subsequently extended across the road and further up the hill. Comparison with an 1896 photograph (http://www.francisfrith.com/lancaster/photos/the-grammar-school-1896_37373/ ), shows that little has changed externally.
