This is what they're working with Image "The pipeline will take two years to construct and is one of the largest projects of its kind ever undertaken by a UK water company. Connecting Merseyside and Greater Manchester, the West East Link will enable us to take water from non traditional sources to supply both areas. Merseyside traditionally receives its clean water supplies from sources in North Wales; and Greater Manchester receives the majority of its water from the Lake District." http://welm.unitedutilities.com/index.htm
