Croydon: The Narrows

This long pedestrian passage runs from Canning Road east, across Clyde Road and then Elgin Road, to emerge in Havelock Road. There are quite a few similar passages in Croydon, but few have names. In my native Yorkshire, such passages were called ginells, elsewhere they could be snicketts or twitches. Local knowledge of such places can be useful in a variety of ways.
