Edgbaston Tunnel is the only one of five on the thirty mile route to be built with a towpath. It is 105 yards long (96 metres), and narrowboats can pass each other in the tunnel. This end of the Worcester and Birmingham Canal was built in the early/mid 1790s, but it took twenty-three years to finish the job into Worcester and onto the River Severn.
