Built in 1897, Woodborough Road. The listing currently on the wikipedia page for the Nottingham architect Watson Fothergill http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watson_Fothergill , who was very active at that time, claims that this building is one of his. It is not at all in his usual style and I had grave doubts about that the accuracy of the listing. However Ken Brand's excellent little book - Watson Fothergill, Architect (Nottingham Civil Society) confirms that the building is his design. Far more recognisable is his other almshouse commission: Image Update Sept 2011: My doubts have been confirmed by Darren Turner of Jackson Design. A copy of the plans for this building have "turned up in the Archives" and the design is by Arthur Brown the Borough Surveyor in 1896.
