The small building on the left was originally a coal office, then when coal traffic ceased it became a mini-cab office for many years, but was then deserted altogether. Now it has re-opened as the 'Iron Inn', a washing, ironing and dry-cleaning facility which also offers collection and delivery - a boon to the single businessman with limited time at his disposal. On the other side of the approach is an empty and disused car showroom, where Toyotas were sold until recently.
