On Chipstead Valley road, the old Woolworth's store has opened as a Tesco Express. Not everyone in Coulsdon welcomes this - there is a giant Super Tesco already less than two miles away in Purley, while Coulsdon itself is already very well served by a Waitrose supermarket.
