Derelict Abbeyhill Station, London Road

The scant remains of the platform for north-bound trains at Abbeyhill station. Built in 1867, it fell victim to the 'Beeching Axe' in 1964, although the line was still used by freight trains into the 1980s. What little remains is now wholly obscured from the street by a modern block of flats. This view was taken from the parapet of the bridge on London Road.
