There is no footpath at the side of this road but it really needs one. The volume and speed of traffic along the road make it unsafe to walk along and enough people need to do this that a distinct path has been worn along the verge. There is often no money to build footpaths and cycleways, after all, most people drive! Yet this problem has been caused by the increased frequency and speed of vehicles making it unsafe for walkers and cyclists to share the road. The solution should therefore be found out of motor vehicle taxation.
