The picture shows the Hurst Street entrance to The Dragon Inn. This is one of the J.D. Wetherspoon chain of pubs, and opened as recently as October 2007. Prior to that, the premises were one of the O'Neills chain of bars. The pub was called The Dragon Inn because it is in Birmingham's Chinese quarter, and dragons are a symbol of good fortune for most Chinese people. The photograph was taken a few days after the start of the Chinese New Year, and the Chinese lanterns strung outside are part of the New Year decorations put up in the area.
