The back entrance to the station is on the corner of Avenue Park Road and Maley Avenue. This ramp leads down to a subway under Avenue Park Road that continues under the full width of the station (60 metres), giving access to the platforms via steps. The ticket machine and gates were installed in late 2009 as part of the roll-out of 'Oyster' smartcards on National Rail services in Greater London in January 2010.
