Mute Swan, Wilts and Berks canal, Swindon

This is a male swan, or cob. Female swans are called 'pens'. The canal is a body of water. Swans are water fowl and it is unsurprising to see swans on bodies of water. In a similar way railway locomotives are often seen on railways. The main difference is that railway locomotives travel faster than swans and are thus frowned upon on Geograph.
