This old, disused, drinking fountain is situated next to an old horse trough (Image) on the junction of Congleton Road and Fountain Court. The stone plaque set into the wall above reads: 1861 FOR THE REFRESHMENT OF WEARY TRAVELLERS MAY GOD SPEED THEM ON THEIR JOURNEY For a wider view see Image
