A closer view of the end wall of this old brick stables at Image It is clear a small window has replaced either a larger window or a door. The upper tie bars (used to stop the weight of the roof pushing the walls apart) have the usual steel end braces (although plainer than most) but the lower ones seem to be fixed around pieces of wood. Closer inspection reveals the wood is just spreading the load, there are short pieces of iron on the rod ends. Curiously, the photo in the listing http://www.imagesofengland.org.uk/images/17/62/L176244.jpg shows no ties on the opposite end.
